About us?
La Coalición de Prevención y Acción Naranjiteña (COPAN) fue fundada en el 2014. Es un grupo comunitario que surge ante la necesidad de trabajar la problemática del consumo de sustancias en los jóvenes de Naranjito, utilizando estrategias efectivas en la comunidad. La COPAN está compuesta por doce sectores de la comunidad quienes están comprometidos en sustentar los esfuerzos de prevención a nivel local. Actualmente dirige sus recursos hacia la prevención del uso de alcohol y el mal uso de medicamentos prescritos en jóvenes entre las edades de 12 a 19 años.
Metas y Objetivos
- Proveer información y educación sobre la prevención del abuso de sustancias a la comunidad y sus familias e involucrar a la comunidad en los esfuerzos de prevención.
- Proveer mecanismos mediante los cuales se le ofrezcan recursos (orientación) a individuos que estén atravesando por situaciones de abuso de sustancias.
- Fomentar una comunidad culturalmente competente en prevención, colaboración, planificación, acción y evaluación.
- Facilitar y proveer programas de apoyo especializado a individuos que estén en alto riesgo de abuso de sustancias.
- Involucrar a la juventud en esfuerzos orientado a padres en una meta común de mantenerse libre de drogas.
What do we do?
- Ofrecemos talleres a Jóvenes, Padres/Madres, Comerciantes y Comunidad General
- Participamos en Mesas Informativas en Actividades de la Comunidad
- Realizamos Campañas de Alcohol dirigidas a Madres/Padres o Comerciantes como:
- "No lo pegues a la lata, el alcohol no es para menores"
- "Tengo mil cosas que compartir con mis hijos, el alcohol no es una de ellas"
- "Sirve Responsable, Rankéate y alcanza otro nivel"
- Realizamos Campañas de Medicamentos Recetados dirigidas a Madres/Padres o Comunidad General como:
- "Despierta, No creas que tu hijo no lo haría"
- "Hogares Seguros"
- Trabajamos directamente con las escuelas intermedias y superiores de Naranjito, brindando apoyo a la comunidad escolar.
- Desarrollamos un Club de Vida Saludable en las escuelas a través del cuál formamos a jóvenes líderes que lleven el mensaje de prevención a sus pares.
Estas actividades nos permiten:
- Reducir el acceso al alcohol y a los medicamentos recetados por parte de menores.
- Aumentar los factores de protección.
- Proveer información para a su vez aumentar el conocimiento.
- Capacitar a la comunidad sobre los riesgos y daños del consumo de sustancias en menores.

EVENTS
Be part of this first edition of the 5K FOR DRUG-FREE YOUTH brought to you by the Naranjiteña Prevention and Action Coalition (COPAN). Enjoy a race in the mountain town over the cable-stayed bridge of Naranjito. You can run it or walk it! Sign up for this coming August 7, 2022 at 7:00 am. The registration includes the shirt, the chip number and the medal.
The activity will be by car service, in front of the offices of the Adolescent Program in Naranjito, Inc. Join us and give us your support to continue with our purpose of helping our children and young people in the prevention of substances.
